Despite being well into my 20s, I still look forward to tucking into an Easter egg or three when this time of year rolls around. Shoppers are often spoilt for choice when it comes to buying them for loved ones (or themselves) with every chocolate brand getting in on the act.
Coming in all shapes and sizes, there is usually an option for almost all budgets. This year, London-based dessert company Bad Brownie has thrown their Easter bonnet into the proverbial ring.
Back at Christmas, I took on their tremendous 'Ferrero Rocher' brownie, which weighed an impressive 500g. Outdoing themselves, their latest creation tips the scales at a ridiculous 750g.

The 'Giant Cookies & Cream Easter Egg Brownie' features an Oreo-filled mini chocolate egg, surrounded by vanilla fudge, a dark chocolate brownie, another layer of fudge with crushed Oreos, and a white chocolate coating. To finish it off are little crunchy chocolate balls on the outside.
After blissfully ignoring the calorie information on the front of the cardboard box, I took the egg out of its packaging. Wrapped in blue foil, the first thing that struck me was how big it was - at three-quarters of a kilo, it goes without saying that it's heavier than a normal Easter egg but the sheer weight of it was still a surprise and it was almost the size of my head.
According to the Bad Brownie website, it serves between 6 and 10 people so after unwrapping it, I proceeded to cut it into eighths. Predictably, this was quite messy and a lot of the balls on the outside fell off as I tried to cut through the thick dessert.
The brownie itself stayed in tact quite well and the inside looked exactly like the photographs on the website. Despite its density, the egg didn't appear dry and looked even more appetising than their Ferrero Rocher inspired effort.
Taste-wise, it was rich, indulgent and utterly delicious. I'd just eaten my tea before it so the little slice I had was more than enough and you definitely have to have a sweet tooth if you're planning on exceeding the recommended serving sizes.
The brownie keeps for up to two weeks if refrigerated and can even last for a week in a cool cupboard, according to the website. Alternatively, if you think it's too much of a challenge to get through in that time, it will keep in a freezer for three months.
If you have allergies, it is worth noting that the brownie contains egg, soya, milk, and gluten. It may also contain traces of nuts and peanuts.
At £27 it will not be in everyone's budget, but if you're looking for an Easter egg with a difference, it could make a fantastic gift for a chocolate lover in your life. The 'Giant Cookies & Cream Easter Egg Brownie' is available from the Bad Brownie website.
