Being a big sauce lover, I thought I’d put this theory to the test, but I’ll be honest, I was very dubious.
Bacon and marmalade have never been combinations I thought would work, up until now.
The sandwich
I opted for smoked bacon because I personally prefer it, but wasn’t entirely sure if there was a preference to go with the marmalade.
In terms of marmalade, I purchased one from my local shop from the brand ‘Happy Shopper’, no frills, just good old marmalade.
Unfortunately we only had brown bread in the house, which isn’t the best for a bacon sandwich but it had to do!

The verdict
I never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but I’ll 100% be putting marmalade on my bacon sandwiches more often.
It was different, and almost felt like a bit of a posh breakfast as opposed to your standard bacon sandwich.
The two flavours really complimented each other, and I’d highly recommend it.
