A pet owner was in for a bit of a surprise when his "beautiful" labradoodle returned from the groomer looking like a completely different pooch. The usually luxuriantly fluffy dog was left with all his soft fur shorn away, giving him the appearance of being half his former size.
According to owner Bruce Super, who has built up a huge TikTok following by reviewing exotic snacks, this was the sweet boy's very first time at the groomer.
They realised he was sorely in need of a trim after his gorgeous fur, unfortunately, became matted while staying temporarily with a carer, but didn't expect such a dramatic transformation.
A hilarious video shared by Bruce via TikTok begins with the previously abundantly furry dog begging for treats happily in the kitchen, tail wagging as he gives a fluffy high five.
The video then cuts to the very same good boy charging through the house to get to his food bowl, tail still wagging joyfully. This time, however, his fur has been clipped clean away, with his bushy tail the only reminder of just how magnificent his fur had once been.
In dismay, animal lover Bruce mournfully explained the change to his followers, sighing: "When your beautiful dog goes to the groomer."
The snack expert, who goes by the username @brucesuperco, also wrote the following caption: "My dog was taken to the groomer this week… No words."
A number of fellow pet owners could relate all too well, with one person commenting: "I have the exact same breed, when he comes back from getting cut he goes from Rosco to Rosie cause he looks completely different."
Another laughed: "It's always so devastating but still beautiful."
This comes after a woman was left amazed by her cat's bold new look after picking him up from the groomer. The only part of the long-haired moggy that wasn't closely trimmed was his face – giving him the peculiar look of a different creature wearing a cat mask as some sort of disguise.
