'I told a man I didn't want to date him because he had kids - he didn't like it'

Datings apps are the most common way for singletons to connect with prospective romantic partners.

But as many of us sadly know first-hand, a conversation can sometimes end very badly indeed.

One woman was left stunned after her potential match turned 'toxic' after she let him know that she wasn't looking for a partner who already has children.

TikTok user Coco Briscoe shared the exchange she'd had with the man on dating app Bumble - and it didn't go well.

In the video, she explained that her match hadn't mentioned on his profile that he was a parent, so it only came up when they were having a conversation.

She then messaged him: “Sorry, but kids are a deal-breaker for me. Hope you find what you’re looking for on here," before adding a heart emoji.

But the man did not take her response well, and responded with a laughing face emoji, before slamming her.

He went on: “You’re 40 years old. How many options do you really think you’ve got? I hope you like cats because trust me those looks are about to fade real quick.”

In response, Coco wrote back: “That’s just a personal preference. Clearly, you’re an aggressive and rude person which is another deal-breaker.”

She then spoke to her TikTok viewers, in a bid to educate them, as she explained: "Just because a woman does not want to have children and does not want to take care of your children, does not give you a right to insult her.

“I am so sick of this toxicity I could f***ing scream.”

The video has gone viral - and sparked a debate in the comments.

Some were divided, with one writing: “I get it, but the older you get the more you’re going to have to get over that people have kids. I personally don’t know anyone over 30 that doesn’t have one.”

Another commented: “I mean, you could put that you’re not looking for anyone with kids in your profile if it’s a deal-breaker for you. Stop wasting other peoples time?”

But the vast majority were on Coco’s side with one viewer saying: “They always say the same thing: looks fading, getting old and use up, cat lady insult, die alone. He's looking for a nanny.”

And someone else commented: “Don't worry about others. You can have whatever dealbreakers you want."

A third commented: "I have kids and totally get why this is a dealbreaker."
