'I think not' - The laughable verdict on key moment in Nottingham Forest and West Brom clash

Former Premier League ref Dermot Gallagher is in "no doubt" Nottingham Forest's Sammy Ameobi was not fouled in the build-up to West Brom's controversial second goal at The Hawthorns.

Even Baggies boss Slaven Bilic admitted Ameobi was fouled by Jake Livermore before Tobias Figueiredo put the ball into his own net - and that his side's second goal in the 2-2 draw should not have stood.

“Second one, our second goal. Foul, yes. On Ameobi,” Bilic said, after the final whistle.

But Gallagher, analysing the match on Sky Sports Ref Watch, said: “I think not. I think Sammy went to put his foot over the ball and couldn’t drag it back and then there was a coming together, there was no doubt about that.”

Gallagher also delivered his verdict on Livermore's nasty challenge on Reds defender Yuri Ribeiro which went unpunished by referee Keith Stroud, the West Brom man studding Ribeiro on the knee.

“He is a lucky boy, I think. In fact, he is very lucky," he said.

“I think he puts his boot into him and he is lucky to get away with it.”
