BBC pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer felt Everton should have been awarded a penalty in their 1-0 defeat to Brentford on Sunday.
Rafa Benitez's side have now gone seven consecutive games without a win after Ivan Toney's 24th minute penalty was the difference between the two sides at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Andros Townsend was penalised for a high boot on Frank Onyeka in the penalty area after a VAR review.
“It was a penalty, his foot, Andros, has caught him in the face there,” Wright told the BBC's Match of the Day 2.

However, the Blues felt they should've had a spot kick of their own shortly before half-time after Salomon Rondon had his shirt pulled by Brentford's Charlie Goode.
Both pundits agreed Everton were unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty for the challenge.
“That should be a penalty, Goode’s got hold of him there,” Shearer said.
Wright added: “I think that’s a pen.”
Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure returned after a six-week absence through injury and he felt the penalty conceded was 'unlucky'.
“We conceded of course the penalty, it is a little bit unlucky," he told talkSPORT after the game.
"So of course it was more harder after to come back into the game."
Everton have the chance to turn their nightmare run around on Wednesday night when they welcome Merseyside rivals Liverpool to Goodison Park.
