‘I think I’m blocked’: Man stops by an Audi dealership to browse and gets locked inside after the manager leaves. And his overnight fix was something else

Jack Hogan, an Audi driver and enthusiast, visited an Audi dealership to take a closer look at some of the brand’s latest models and maybe even explore a potential upgrade. What started as a routine, fairly relaxed visit quickly turned into an awkward situation when the dealership began closing for the day. The manager left and locked the gate with Hogan still inside the parking lot.

According to Motor1, Hogan shared the whole thing on TikTok, showing the locked gate and explaining his situation. “I got here, and I saw the manager leave. He locked the gate while I was inside of the parking lot, and now both of the gates are locked. I can’t get out,” he said, trying to stay calm.

He eventually managed to track down the general manager’s contact details on Facebook and attempted to reach out for help, hoping to resolve the situation quickly. However, his efforts appeared to hit a wall, as he began to suspect he had been blocked and couldn’t get through. “I think I’m blocked,” he said.

Being locked inside a car dealership overnight turned out to be less dramatic than it sounds

Some viewers on TikTok didn’t really see the problem with Hogan being stuck inside. One commenter said, “I feel like it’s click bait for attention to sell shi$ 😳” to which Hogan replied with a laugh, “Actually, it’s heaven.” Others suggested he simply call an Uber or leave his car there overnight.

That’s exactly what Hogan ended up doing. In a follow-up TikTok, he revealed that he parked his Audi in one of the dealership’s parking spots and picked it up the next morning without anyone noticing. “They had no idea. I blended in. They had no idea,” he said. Car troubles and unexpected situations are more common than you’d think; like this woman whose Kia started shaking right before her trade-in appointment and she showed up anyway.

While the situation turned out fine for Hogan, being locked inside a property after hours can be a serious issue in other cases, especially in places with safety hazards like car washes or storage facilities. Hogan was fortunate that the dealership was a relatively safe environment.

If you ever find yourself stuck in a similar situation, the best move is to stay calm and contact the right people for help. According to SafeWise, almost 100 cities in the United States have a 311 program, which you can call to report such situations and get assistance sent to you.

Road trips and long drives can bring their own share of surprises too, though some of them are actually good, like not needing to leave your car for restroom stops on long drives. Hogan’s story is a reminder to be careful when visiting unfamiliar places, especially after business hours. While it all ended well for him – his car was safe, and he got out without any trouble the next morning – it could have gone very differently in another setting.
