I test blenders for a living – yes, that is as much fun as it sounds. I spend my days researching the best appliances on the market, then I call them into our test kitchen for multiple rounds of smoothies, sauces, and frozen mocktails.
While I really rate the latest, greatest NutriBullets, it's an open secret among us product testers that the NutriBullet Original Personal Blender is still a great little appliance.
While it may not boast the funky colorways and extra features of more recently released best blenders (check our five-star reviews of the NutriBullet Ultra and NutriBullet Ultra Plus), the original remains an old faithful for a reason. It is sturdy, reliable, and more than sufficient for daily smoothies.
Nutribullets are made for smoothie lovers. I find them quick to use, easy to clean, and powerful enough to blitz through frozen fruit and fibrous veg with a simple twist of the pitcher. Plus, like all the best personal blenders, they come with handy lids for taking smoothies on the go.
This NutriBullet Original is the entry-level model. At 600 watts, it’s the least powerful in the range, and it doesn’t offer variable speeds. It can struggle with solid ice cubes, so it’s not ideal if you plan to make mocktails or frozen cocktails. That said, I think it's more than capable of whipping up daily smoothies or soft dips. In fact, I often see chefs using this very model on Instagram for things like hummus, pesto, and green goddess dressing – each of which it handles beautifully.
Overall, we rated it a very respectable four stars in our Nutribullet 600 Series review – and online reviewers seem to agree with us.
I personally use a higher-wattage model (the Nutribullet Ultra, also on sale at Macy's) because I blend tougher ingredients (I love icy frappuccinos and frozen margaritas). But if your blends are mostly fruity smoothies, you won’t need the extra 300 watts. The 600 gives you the same straightforward design and ease of use for less money.

If you need your blender to handle more than simple smoothies, there are plenty more powerful models and opportunities to save money this weekend. I've scouted the Way Day sale and rival sites to find some nice prices on blenders worth investing in.
The Ultra is Nutribullet's most powerful, techy blender on the market. It's speedy, has a touchscreen, and can tackle the tougher tasks that other bullet blenders can't. It's pretty perfect if you've got an extra $50 to spend. Just be warned, it is louder than the entry-range options.
I often recommend this powerful, capacious model as a great Vitamix alternative. The stainless steel Smeg blender is more than a pretty face. The professional controls can whip up smoothies, dips, and crush ice effortlessly. Plus, the vacuum pump keeps blends fresher for longer. A very luxurious buy in the sales.
One of the flaws of a small Nutribullet blender is that it is not safe for soup. If you're just looking to experiment with savory blends this fall, try the Braun MultiQuick Blender on sale at Wayfair. It can double as a whisk and food chopper to help you out with holiday meal prep, too.
