A man sold solar panels to the Queen for her Balmoral estate after a “20-second” chat.
George Goudsmit, 80, told the monarch he made the renewable energy devices and as she moved away she said she might get them
for her Scottish residence.
The AES Solar boss later wrote to the royals and was shocked when asked to install the devices on a large house at her estate.
He said: “She asked what I did and I told her I make solar panels. As she walked away she turned around and said, ‘Maybe I should have solar panels at Balmoral’.
“I am always on the lookout to find interesting projects and I can definitely say this is one of the best.”

George, of Forres, Scotland, who recently got a lifetime achievement gong at the Solar and Storage Awards, said Covid hit work to install panels at Buckingham Palace.
He met the Queen four years ago at an Isles of Scilly event to mark his daughter’s firm Little Island Chocolate.
