'I smell three points!' - Rival fans go wild as Chelsea and Liverpool go into extra time

It is set to be a long night for Chelsea and Liverpool in Europe this evening (Wednesday).

The two Premier League rivals are facing each other in Istanbul in the UEFA Super Cup, with the Europa League winners going up against the Champions League holders.

But the two sides could not be separated in normal time this evening, with the game finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes, as Sadio Mane cancelled out Olivier Giroud's opener for Chelsea.

Chelsea had two goals ruled out over offside decisions, with Christian Pulisic and substitute Mason Mount both denied by the flag.

But with no-one able to find a winner in the closing stages of the game, the clash went into 30 minutes of extra time.

That was not what Liverpool or Chelsea would have wanted, but there were some fans delighted at that outcome, with the Reds set to face Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday at 3pm, while the Blues face Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

And some fans of the two clubs' rivals have been licking their lips at the prospect of both sides being tired for the weekend matches, as can be seen from the reaction to the game going into extra time.

Here's what some Leicester, Arsenal and Manchester United fans have been saying about Chelsea on social networking website Twitter.
