'I prefer': Jens Hjerto-Dahl breaks Rangers transfer silence

Jens Hjerto-Dahl has confessed he would "prefer" a move to Rangers over signing rivals Besiktas.

The Norwegian rising star has interest from Ibrox as well as in Turkey while there is believed to be at least one English side keeping an eye on his progress.

Hjerto-Dahl, 20, has managed six goals and two assists from just 14 outings this season so far with the Norwegian Eliteserien already underway. And his club, sitting top of the division, don't want to see their player leave for anything less than their valuation.

That's why an £8.5million price tag has been placed on his head with Gers knowing they will have to splash out to land their target from last summer.

The midfielder himself has now broken his silence on transfer interest in his services as he acknowledged any move may still be a while away with deals to be negotiated.

But he has revealed his preferred destination and fans of the Ibrox club will be pleased to hear it. "I still prefer Rangers over Besiktas, but I am prepared for the fact that it could take a long time before a move to a new club is finalised," he said via iTromso.

Gers have other players on their shortlist including £5.5m-rated Partizan Belgrade star Vanja Dragojevic.

The Light Blues have already snapped up six new summer signings but manager Derek McInnes wants more.
