‘I paid for parking on the app!’ - RTE presenter's Dublin clamping drama

RTE radio presenter Carl Mullan had a bit of drama this week when he discovered his car was clamped.

The 2FM DJ was shocked to discover he had been clamped, even though he had paid for parking through an app. Carl took fans through his ordeal on Instagram after he was fined €125.

Carl began his story revealing a photo of the clamp on his car with the caption "Stunning. Absolutely Stunning." He was left frustrated that he couldn't move his car even though he had paid for parking.

"This is an interesting one because I paid to park here. I paid. I paid my parking. Why am I clamped? Why am I clamped? I paid on the app! What’s going on?"

The broadcaster called the parking provider, however was greeted with a voice machine. "They’re very clever, because they give you a number on this and do you know who you talk to? A robot!!...What a pain in the hole," complained Carl.

The comedian went on to pay the fine - and was shocked by the cost. "No someones pulling my f*cking leg...125 euro….you are sh*tting me!" shouted Carl.

As he waited for the clamper to arrive, Carl moaned he was "falsely imprisoned" in his vehicle. However, when someone did arrive to help, Carl was left a little red faced as he was told he was in fact illegally parked.

His car had been left in a spot where parking wasn't permitted between 7-10am. Unfortunately Carl had parked during these hours.

The social media star ended his saga by saying: "You win this one Dublin parking."
