OK, I've just got my hands on one of the early i-Mode phones from 02. It's easy to use, compact and the extra content is simple to get at, which is fine.
The issue for the entrepreneur is going to be getting an i-site onto the system. The idea is that i-Mode, unlike WAP, will let you put the same site onto different handsets - so your customer will be able to get through to you more easily than they could before. They have an 'i' button on the phone which starts up the browser and it's very easy and intuitive from there. If it takes off then great - but as 02 has the exclusive on this, only 20 per cent or so of your customers are going to be able to get to you this way.
It's a great idea in principle and I'll continue to update you with how I get on over the next couple of weeks.
