'I'm scared, he's in the house' Terrified daughter dials 999 to report mum's murder

A terrified teen had to call 999 after finding her mum’s blood-soaked body while cowering in her bedroom as the killer lurked downstairs.

Doting daughter Wiktoria Bartnik told the call handler, "Please I'm scared I feel like he can hear me, he's in the house” after discovering Magdalena Pacult on New Year's Day.

Evil Piotr Cichy was jailed for life with a minimum of 19 years behind bars after beating and smothering the "lovely and devoted" gran to death.

During Cichy's trial at Liverpool Crown Court the jury was played the frantic call made by Wiktoria after finding her mum’s lifeless body.

The Liverpool Echo reports how the distressed 16-year-old said Cichy had previously threatened her and her mother.

Speaking to the caller said: "He's been saying she's going to die."

Wiktoria, who is now 17, pleaded with the 999 operator.

Officers arrived at the Custley Hey home in Stockbridge Village six minutes after the teenager made the 999 call.

The mother and daughter had stayed in Wiktoria's bedroom the previous night, but when the girl woke up her mum wasn't there.

Upon looking for her, Wiktoria found her mum's body in her own bed.

Terrified, she made the following phone call to police at 1.39pm.

This is the transcript of that heartbreaking 999 call, which was played to the jury at Liverpool Crown Court:

Wiktoria: "My mum is dead"

Operator: "Where are you?"

Wiktoria: "At home. Please hurry up. I'm scared."

Operator: "What's your name?"

Wiktoria: "Wiktoria Bartnik. She's not breathing she's in her bed her mouth is open there's blood everywhere. The guy who killed her he's in the house, he's in the house.

"I'm scared, I'm talking to my friend. My mum's dead I can't believe it.

"Please hurry, please hurry, please, please."

Operator: "Just stay on the line for me OK."

Wiktoria: "Please I'm scared I feel like he can hear me, he's in the house. Downstairs I'm upstairs in my bedroom."

Operator: "Does he know your exact location?"

Wiktoria: "No he doesn't he thinks I'm asleep. I think he killed her in her sleep. I don't want to look please don't make me look."

Operator: "OK if you don't know you don't know."

Wiktoria: "Please hurry, please. He kept knocking in my room and woke me up but he didn't do anything to me. He's been threatening to me and he's been threatening my mum.

"He's been saying she's going to die. Oh my God she's not breathing."

Wiktoria then sees police arrive and begins crying and saying "Oh my God".

During the phone call police can be heard arriving and Wiktoria begins screaming.

One officer then picks up the call and confirms that police have arrived.

Clichy had tried to convince a jury that his girlfriend was killed by her ex - Wiktoria's dad - who he claimed got into the house through unlocked doors.

The court heard Cichy tried to make the 16-year-old believe she was partly at fault by suggesting she had left the doors open.

The killer claimed he found Magdalena’s body and tried CPR before panicking.

Cichy then alleged he rang two friends instead of dialling 999, then went to drink some beers with one of his pals, before returning home.

As he sentenced Cichy after jurors unanimously found him guilty, Judge Brian Cummings, QC, called the killer a "cynical liar".
