'I’m not an idiot' - Every word as Jurgen Klopp walks out of TV interview after Liverpool win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was left furious after being accused of being ‘very angry’ after Diego Simeone refused to shake his hand on Tuesday.

Following the Reds 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, the Argentine snubbed Klopp by running straight down the tunnel at the final whistle.

The Liverpool manager held out his hand and gave a thumbs up as Simeone headed for the exit before shaking hands with the Atletico backroom staff.

However, Klopp was left irked during his post-match media duties when one reporter implied he was ‘very angry’ by his rival’s actions.

The German was clearly not impressed by the line of questioning, claimed he wasn’t angered by Simeone’s decision before insisting: “I’m not an idiot” and labelling the journalist “not a nice person”.

“Very angry at the end of the game, I don’t know what was the reason because I suppose you have to be very happy because of the result?” the reporter asked.

“Why was I angry?” Klopp replied deadpan.

“I don’t know, because you want to shake the hand…” the journalist responded.

“Come on, I’m not such an idiot that you can little bit question here, I was not angry at all,” said Klopp.

“Look, have a look... that you want to make a story out of that I can imagine

“I want to shake his hand, he doesn’t want it.

"In that moment I can understand that he was running inside.

“He’s emotional, I’m emotional and you are not a nice person because you want to make a story of that

“You said I’m angry, when was I angry?”

The reporter attempted to defend his query before Klopp snapped: “I’m now angry because of your question, come on,” and walked off.

Simeone moved to clear up any confusion over his snub after the game and admitted that while he was not happy to lose, the slight towards Klopp was not intended.
