'I'm leaving a man' - Aaron Ramsey's first words after confirmation his Arsenal career is over

Aaron Ramsey has offered a warm tribute to Arsenal and their supporters after it was confirmed earlier today that a hamstring injury will end his time at the club prematurely.

The Wales international has not featured since picking up a hamstring injury in Arsenal's 1-0 win away to Napoli last month and Gunners head coach Unai Emery confirmed today that Ramsey will not be fit for any of the remaining games of Arsenal's season.

Ramsey will join Juventus on a free transfer at the end of the season but will make one final appearance at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, when he and retiring goalkeeper Petr Cech will be given a guard of honour by the Arsenal squad.

Ramsey, 28, is the longest-serving player in the squad having joined in 2008 and his winning goals in the 2014 and 2017 FA Cup Finals mean his place in Arsenal folklore is secured.

However he was dreaming of a more spectacular farewell to the club.

"It saddens me to say that the game against Napoli was my last game in an Arsenal shirt," Ramsey wrote on Instagram. "Unfortunately it left me with an injury that rules me out of the remaining games.

"I am really disappointed not to play until the end and give everything for the club while I am still an Arsenal player. Unfortunately it's out of my hands but I wanted to say thank you to the fans for your support.

Unai Emery press conference: Every word on Ramsey's season being over, Ozil, Valencia and more

"It has been a journey, on and off the field, and so much has happened in 11 years. I was a spotty young kid coming in and I'm leaving a man, married, father of three boys and full of pride and good memories that I will treasure.

"It will be emotional this weekend - my last game at home. I Look forward to seeing you there and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for everything."

Aaron Ramsey deserves a spectacular Arsenal swansong but his commitment proved to be a fault
