Zack Snyder fans, it might be time to let go. This is coming from someone who loves Man of Steel, thinks Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition is underrated, and counts Zack Snyder’s Justice League as one of my favorite superhero movies of all time. Heck, I gave Rebel Moon a glowing review and am fully on board for whatever he does next!
But as far as the “Snyderverse” goes? It’s time to stick a fork in it. It’s done. But some fans can’t let go and are taking their frustrations out on James Gunn’s upcoming Superman. It should be underlined that Snyder and Gunn have been friends since they worked on 2004’s Dawn of the Dead together and are not in competition with each other.
But, amidst the onslaught of Snyder fans who just want Henry Cavill back (guys, it’s not happening), one has maybe gone a teeny bit too far. User @KS05020 posted a mashup of Snyder’s face on Osama Bin Laden’s portrait and promised, “Y’all ain’t ready for July. I’m gonna be Osnyder Bin Laden all month long”:

Now, the charitable reading is that this user is going to be wreaking havoc on social media as part of a campaign against Superman. Or, as the FBI apparently interpreted it, the message meant “I am going to commit high-profile acts of violent terrorism”.
Not the smartest post
As such, someone anonymously reported the post to Reno Police and the FBI, who apparently responded by sending a SWAT team to their house on the basis that this was a serious terror threat:
FBI investigating Snyder cultists for terrorism was not on my 2025 bingo card.

They swatted this clown

It’s unknown what happened to this poster, though their X account no longer exists. This was fairly transparently a joke, so here’s hoping the most punishment they received is a stern telling off from the FBI (and maybe their mom yelling at them).
In the meantime, could Snyder fans please chill out a bit? Zack Snyder is done with DC, Henry Cavill has moved on, and there was always eventually going to be another Superman movie at some point. Against all odds, we got Zack Snyder’s Justice League and it was great, just take the win!
If you don’t think James Gunn’s Superman looks as good as Man of Steel that’s fine, but just skip it in theaters and, I dunno, maybe rewatch Snyder’s often-overlooked battle owl epic Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.
