Aside from pinching wheelie bins or heated parking spats, the most common neighbour complaint is noise - whether it's a screaming baby or endless DIY jobs that take you over the edge. Bedroom sounds can also be a real bugbear - particularly during unsociable hours - but one woman has taken the crown for the most awkward neighbourly complaint after spotting the couple next door having sex in the communal hallway in her apartment building.
Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, the anonymous user explained how the loved-up couple were in the communal hallway blocking the path 'leading up to [her] place'. Revealing her disgust, the woman captioned her post: "Just caught my neighbours b*nking."
She explained: "To preface, I wish this were a joke. I live on the top two floors of a terraced house with another flat below."
The woman went on: "Been here for a few years and had new neighbours move in downstairs about give months ago, haven't really spoken to them apart from a couple of months ago when we had a leak.
"I've been home this weekend visiting my mum who's broken her leg, and ended up not getting home until about an hour ago (hence the late hour).
"I unlocked the front door and lugged my bags in, only to be greeted with a pale, hairy backside... Seems the two of them were going at it on the stairs leading up to my place.
"They didn't notice for a few seconds until I dropped my keys, then scrabbled about rearranging their clothes and racing into their front door."
Since sharing the shocking ordeal online, the woman's post has raked in over 90 comments to date.
Taking to the comment section, one person wrote: "Gross. How disgusting."
"Ewww. I hope they are suitably embarrassed," a second said.
Meanwhile, a third person penned: "Maybe they like the thrill but jeees that's foul."
