‘I’m a little scared’: Alabama woman says she ordered a pizza. Then the delivery driver starts texting her

For many of us, ordering food seems harmless. However, it does carry risks that are easy to overlook.

By inviting a delivery driver, who’s a stranger after all, to drop something at your door, you’re also sharing one of the most sensitive details about yourself: your exact address, and sometimes your phone number.

There have been countless stories about how quickly this can go wrong. One woman said her Uber Eats driver refused to leave after making a delivery, lingering outside her home for nearly 20 minutes until she opened the door.

Another user discovered a loophole in the app that allows drivers to switch accounts. He expected a young woman to show up, as the app suggested, but instead a middle-aged man arrived with his food.

Now, another woman has gone viral for a similar story—this time involving a pizza delivery.

Woman says pizza delivery driver ‘keeps texting her’

TikTok creator @chloeriann_ posted a short video explaining why she was suddenly uneasy after receiving an order. Her clip got more than 25,100 views.

“I ordered a pizza last night and the pizza man texted me when he left,” she said. “And he was like, ‘You’re very pretty’. And I was like, thank you.”

At first, she brushed it off. But then the driver kept messaging her. “I’m a little scared now because he keeps texting me and he has my [expletive] address,” she added. “Like he knows exactly where I stay. I’m a little [expletive] scared.”

What are her options now?

Unfortunately, reports like this aren’t rare. According to Business Insider, women have long reported about delivery companies failing to properly handle harassment. Still, there are ways to respond.

DoorDash, for example, encourages customers to file a safety report:

  • Step 1: Go to help.doordash.com
  • Step 2: Select “Customer Chat” → “Chat.”
  • Step 3: Under “Health, Safety, or Legal Concern,” click “Report an accident, safety or legal concern.”
  • Step 4: Fill out your contact information, then a representative will connect you to the Trust and Safety Team.

DoorDash says reports are confidential and that they’ll carry out an impartial investigation. If a violation is found, the driver’s account may be deactivated.

Uber Eats has a similar policy. The company bans “threatening and rude behavior,” including harassment. Customers who experience it can report the situation through the app, where Uber promises to review the incident according to its rules.

Legal advocates also say victims can go beyond the apps. HelpingSurvivor.org notes: “If you or someone you know has experienced any form of sexual harassment or assault at the hands of a food delivery worker or customer, you have legal rights and options, including eligibility to file a civil lawsuit against the food delivery platform.”

Women in the comments share their perspective

In the comments under @chloeriann_’s video, other women admitted they’ve dealt with the same fear.

“See nah, I have all deliveries get sat on the porch. And I’ll watch them leave on the cameras before I open the door,” one person shared.

“Bye this happened to me… & one time he acted like he didn’t know my apt # & had me come out so he could show off his Benz with the music blasting,” another said.

A third added: “The entitlement is crazy smh.”
