I’m A Celebrity: What is Kadeena Cox’s disability and why is she a Paralympian?

The Paralympian Kadeena Cox is currently taking part in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Here! where she has spoken openly about having multiple sclerosis.

The 30-year-old sprinter and cyclist has competed in parasports since 2015 after she was diagnosed with MS in 2014.

Kadeena suffered two strokes in 2014 which lead to her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis which is where nerve cells in the brain and spine are damaged, creating severe muscle weakness and coordination problems.

Kadeena was an athlete before her diagnosis, running the 100 and 200 metres, and her condition has not stopped her, as she's since carried on with her sprinting career and also taken up cycling.

In her first Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016 Kadeena picked up two golds, one in sprinting the 400m and the other in the cycling C4-5 time trial.

She also won silver in the 100-metre relay and bronze in the 100-metre sprint.

Earlier this year Kadeena improved her medal collection as she took part in the postponed 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo where she won two golds for the C4-5 time trails and the mixed team sprint.

Kadeena was also made an MBE in 2017 and this year she won Celebrity Masterchef before going into the castle. She has also suffered from an eating disorder throughout her career.

On Tuesday, as the I'm A Celebrity live shows returned, Kadeena volunteered to take part in the Bed Chamber of Chills challenge alongside former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and they won ten out of a possible 11 stars.

Kadeena has adapted trials during the show to help her with her MS and you can read about this here.
