I'm A Celebrity Welsh castle gets finishing touches hinting at new camp area

The castle home to the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is undergoing some finishing touches before the ITV show returns to our screens.

Gwrych Castle in Wales will once again host the celebs after Covid put paid to them travelling to Australia.

In recently released pics builders can be seen transforming the fabulous fortress ready for the celebrity guests.

There are a number of new additions to the castle including an extra entrance and staircase.

There is also a curiously large black box on the grounds - exactly what it's for remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, a replica of the castle's entrance is being constructed with an imposing archway visible in the snaps.

Wooden structures are also being erected in the courtyard as well as a separate room.

Could a brand new camp area be on the cards?

A show as big as I'm A Celeb needs ample space for all the crew, and so an enormous gazebo has been put up, presumably for the staff canteen and the show's production people.

The whopping 236 acre estate is strewn with scaffolding and other building equipment, but soon the castle will be full of hopeful celebs all trying to make a name for themselves.

Rumours are rife regarding who'll be going on the show with Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley an odds on favourite.

The 65-year-old refused to rule out his appearance on the hit ITV show, after it was rumoured that he had signed a "£200k" deal to join the line-up.

He admitted that ITV had told him to him to keep mum about his alleged appearance, but later confessed that he had to go to a medical - something that is required for celebrities before they take part.

Getting in on the action was TV presenter Andi Peters, who had been promoting ITV's million pound competition.

Holding a cup and saucer he quipped: "With that kind of money, you could be drinking flat whites out of gold-encrusted cups and saucers. Oh, you won't get this in the jungle, Richard!"

Other Stars thought to be wrapping up for Wales include Love Island's Liberty Poole, former EastEnders actor Jake Wood, choreographer Arlene Phillips and ex-BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.
