I'm a Celebrity viewers fuming as the campmates get to go to the pub while they can't

I'm A Celebrity campmates were overjoyed when they were given the chance to go to the pub, but for viewers watching at home it was a bitter reminder of what they're missing because of coronavirus restrictions.

The campers cheered as they were told they could go to an on-set pub in the castle to enjoy drinks and pub meals of pie and peas.

The celebs, who isolated for two weeks ahead of joining each other in Gwyrch Castle in Abergele, north Wales, embraced their reward in Tuesday night's episode.

But fans of the ITV reality show weren't so happy.

"The fact the celebs can go to the pub in a freezing castle in Wales but me stuck in tier 3 cant," said one.

"The whole of England watching the celebs go to the pub," commented another on Twitter.

"Bit rich allowing the celebrities to the pub when the rest of the UK isn't allowed! Well deserved though," said another.

"Oh so they get to go to the pub and most of us can’t?" wrote another viewer with a string of crying emojis.

In tier three areas of England, introduced from tomorrow, hospitality venues must close apart from delivery, takeaway and drive-through services.

In tier two, pubs and bars can open until 11pm but alcohol can only be served with a substantial meal.

In tier one pubs can open until 11pm with last orders at 10pm.

In Wales, where the ITV reality show is set this year instead of Australia because of COVID-19, pubs, restaurants and cafes will be banned from serving alcohol from Friday and will be unable to open to customers beyond 6pm.

First Minister Mark Drakeford announced the new rules to tackle a rise in coronavirus cases.

The celebrities screamed with joy as they walked into The Castle Inn, greeted with a pub table and chairs and pub grub.

Talking in the Telegraph, Jordan said “Oh my god, what a beautiful Christmassy sight, tinsel up, chairs out, a bar, Christmas trees, Christmas decs and most importantly there was pies and peas ...pies and peas.”
