I'm A Celebrity star Chris Moyles mocks Matt Hancock with Health Secretary jibe

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant Chris Moyles didn't waste a second before having a laugh at Matt Hancock 's expense on Wednesday's episode.

The former Health Secretary finally entered the jungle alongside comedian Seann Walsh as the unsuspecting campmates couldn't hide their shock at seeing the MP walk in. Radio DJ Chris, 48, couldn't resist taking a jibe at Matt, 44, and his government role which saw him front the coronavirus press briefings.

The BBC radio host broke the ice with Matt and said: "You’ve got to get it out of the way for me. Please just say, ‘next slide please’ and I’m really happy." Answering Chris’ request, Matt replied: “Next slide please!” to which Chris jumped up exclaiming: “Yes! See you later…”

Although, a laughing Boy George warned Matt: “You’re really going to get it. You’re really going to get it. Not from me. I mean just from…”

Wanting to know more about the MP’s decision to enter the jungle, Scarlette Douglas asked: “Why did you decide to come in?” To which Matt said: “Why? Because, all politicians are known — and me in particular — for being in a very sort of strict way of being. Which is just not actually how we are.”

Scarlette, 35, said in response: “How would you say you were?” to which Matt replied: “More human than that.”

The A Place In The Sun star added: “I’m looking forward to getting to know you outside of everything else. That’s going to be good. Just be your authentic self.”

She added in the Bush Telegraph: “To be fair, everyone’s human. We all have our own personalities outside what we are seen in the media. So listen, Matt Hancock has come on, he obviously has something to prove, so hey, everyone’s got their own reasons as to why they’re here.”

The two new arrivals made their way to camp to meet the rest of the contestants, and tell them all about their recent challenge. First to spot the duo arriving was Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver who said: "Oh, oh, oh.”

Matt's participation has been met with criticism from both viewers and his fellow campmates (ITV)

In the Bush Telegraph, radio DJ Chris couldn’t believe his eyes and said: “Oh my god, two new people have arrived. One of them is Seann Walsh and the other one… I’ve got to go back and double check!” Sue, 59, was just as shocked and added: “I don’t know what to say.”

Many viewers were looking forward to an immediate row with Matt, but the hungry campmates were more interested in how many stars the pair acquired during their trial. After Loose Women’s Charlene White, who has already clashed with pop icon Boy George, asked how many stars they won, Matt said they got six out of the 11 available.

Comedian Babatunde, who yesterday conquered his fear of heights after leaving Charlene dangling for 45-minutes on Sunday, joked about winning more stars and said the newbies have “got a lot to live up to…”

“They weren’t desperately impressed with six stars were they?” Matt said in the Bush Telegraph, to which Seann replied, “They were not!”
