I'm a Celebrity star Anne Hegerty shrieks in horror as she is slimed in tense Bushtucker Trial

I’m A Celebrity’s Anne Hegerty shrieked as she was gunged during her first Bushtucker Trial of the series.

The Governess, who regularly puts quizzers through their paces on The Chase, fiddled with padlocks in a desperate bid to find the code to grab the coveted stars.

In a teaser clip for tonight’s show, Hegerty squeals as thick green gunge is poured on her as she tries to work during the Monstrous Monoliths task.

Outside the box, Holly Willoughby can be heard offering words of comfort to Hegerty as she tells her “it’s alright, it’s okay”.

Donnelly tells her to “just focus” and Willoughby continues to reassure the star, telling her that nothing in the box with her will cause her harm.

Despite fumbling with the padlocks and the codes on the side, Hegerty struggles to free the two stars in front of her.

Hegerty is currently one of 10 stars who have swapped their lives of luxury for a stint Down Under eating rice and beans.

The star proved to be having a tough time settling in, bursting into tears after the boat sank in the first challenge she took on .

But Hegerty, who has spoken openly about having Asperger’s Syndrome, began to bond with former EastEnders actress Rita Simons and singer Fleur East in the past few days in camp .

East told the Bush Telegraph: “I think we’ve made her fell really comfortable with it now.

“She’s just sharing a bit more, like every day we’re chipping away at that tough Governess exterior and we’re seeing that inside she is the sweetest most humble, just lovely lovely woman inside.”

I’m A Celebrity continues Tuesday at 9pm on ITV.
