I'm A Celebrity... South Africa full line up, location, start date and everything else you need to know

ITV has revealed the first details about the upcoming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! spin-off. Presenting duo Ant & Dec revealed the first batch of celebrities who will be taking part in the new show during Saturday Night Takeaway last week.

The new spin-off was first announced last year in an Instagram post from Ant & Dec. At the time, the pair confirmed that the new iteration (which has been pre-recorded) would be welcoming back stars from the show’s past and would be filmed in an all new location.

I’m A Celebrity has been running since 2002 and would usually (albeit two series shot in Wales in 2020 and 2021) be filmed in Australia. Alongside the spin-off, there will also be a new series of the regular edition later in the year.

But who will be taking part in the spin-off, where is it filmed and when can you watch it? Here’s everything you need to know about the new series.

Who is in the line-up?

Ant & Dec confirmed the first nine celebrities who will be taking part during Saturday Night Takeaway. The remaining contestants are set to be revealed soon - read more about who’s rumoured here.

Stars taking part include Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, boxer Amir Khan, Olympian Fatima Whitbread and ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell. Former Coronation Street actor Helen Flanagan and presenter Carol Vorderman are also involved.

Completing the line-up are Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, supermodel Janice Dickinson and former royal butler Paul Burrell.

Where is the new series filmed?

While the normal version of I'm A Celebrity films in Australia, the new All Stars spin-off has been shot in South Africa. The series will take place at Kruger National Park where many international versions of I’m A Celebrity are filmed.

The news was first announced when Ant & Dec posted a video to Twitter last year. In the video, Dec said: "Hello everybody, we've got news for you. It's probably the worst kept secret in television but we can confirm we are doing a very special series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa."

When does the new series come out?

ITV has confirmed that I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! South Africa will begin airing from Monday, April 24. It is expected to start once Saturday Night Takeaway ends. For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter here.
