I'm A Celebrity... South Africa first look as stars seen in new camp ahead of air date

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa starts on Monday, April 24. The new series, which was filmed late last year, sees the return of some of the most memorable campmates from I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in the brand new setting of South Africa.

Slightly different to what I'm A Celebrity viewers are used to, the show is not live and there's no public vote, with the stars battling it out to become the first ever I'm A Celebrity Legend, rather than the King or Queen of the jungle. ITV bosses said: "Whilst nodding back to the Australian jungle, I'm A Celebrity... South Africa is a uniquely different series so viewers can look forward to lots of unexpected twists and turns."

Those confirmed to be taking part so far include Carol Vorderman, Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo, Helen Flanagan, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, Phil Tufnell, Janice Dickinson, and Shaun Ryder, with many more stars set to enter camp as the show continues. And ahead of its launch date, the broadcaster has shared a first look at the contestants arriving at camp.

In the images, former supermodel Janice Dickinson, 68, and retired javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread, 62, could be seen donning the iconic camp outfits in bright red t-shirts. The pair were all smiles as they got acquainted with their very basic camp.

The first look images also gave a glimpse at the new camp, were the celebrities will be staying during the three-week competition. Pictures showed nothing more than a few wooden benches, camp beds and hammocks.

A blackboard with the sign 'assign yourself a chore' also featured, while a shower head could be seen suspended above a tree. A walkway made of entwined twigs with lanterns appeared to signal the camp entrance.

"There will be many more celebrities taking part in the series but viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp. All the campmates survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before.

"The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving. With no public vote, they will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first ever 'I'm A Celebrity Legend'."
