I'm A Celebrity set to be filmed 'next to dogging hotspot' in Wales

The forthcoming series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will reportedly be held right next to a popular dogging hotspot in Wales.

After speculation that this year's show could be thrown into chaos due to coronavirus enforced travel restrictions, ITV finally confirmed at the end of last week that it would be held on British soil rather than the Australian jungle, where it's been filmed for the past 18 years.

And the hot tip for I'm A Celebrity 's new home is Gwrych Castle in north Wales. But, as well as it apparently being haunted, The Sun reports that it is well known for a very different reason - it's a favourite with 'doggers'.

The Sun has quoted a website called 'hookup spots in Abergele, Conwy' which shares that the "path leading to Gwrych Castle," is a big favourite among people looking for for that kind of fun.

The website claims it is a "know where guide" which provides "inside information only locals know."

Describing Gwrych Castle, an enthusiastic fan writes: "Oh happy nights. Close to town yet far away enough for some activity with a fair maiden."

The castle is said to be haunted by a 'floating woman in white', thought to be Countess of Dundonald, who died in 1924.

Paranormal investigators have also claimed to have recorded voices on numerous occasions, with other ghosts at Gwrych said to be a servant girl who died falling off a horse on the estate and past gamekeepers.

This year's I'm A Celebrity line-up is set to include a real mix of famous faces from Love Island's Tommy Fury to football legend Paul Merson, with the likes of Carole Baskin, John Bercow and Tamzin Outhwaite also linked.

Last year's series was won by former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa who narrowly beat bookies favourite and Coronation Street star Andy Whyment in the final, with Capital radio host Roman Kemp in third.
