I'm A Celebrity's Wales stint might not be a one-off as bosses consider huge shake up for future

Before the new series has even started, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here bosses are said to be plotting a huge location shake up for its future.

The hit ITV show has been forced to leave its usual home of Australia for the first time in its 18 year history this time round, moving location to Gwrych Castle in Abergele, north Wales.

Stars like Vernon Kay, Giovanna Fletcher and Mo Farah are in the I'm A Celebrity lineup for this year, with hosts Ant and Dec returning to front the show from Sunday, November 15.

The lads have been in Wales a while now, sharing teasers of the new set on their social media and if speculation is to be believed, this year might not be their only stint there.

A source from Gwrych Castle told The Sun: "It's been really challenging for everyone involved just to get the show on air this year, but it's given producers a chance to reflect and take stock more than usual.

"They've loved trying new things with a different location and the idea of having alternate years has been discussed."

They added that the proposed change would mean Ant and Dec would be back in the traditional jungle, before returning to Wales again the following year.

A few weeks ago, Abergele locals took to Twitter to rant about the I'm A Celebrity crew 'taking over their turf.'

One ranted: "Do us a favour, get yourselves out of here. We don’t need you,” and, echoing those sentiments, another reacted: "So, at least we now know why we’ve all been barred from the tracks and paths around Gwrych these last few months.”

However, plenty of other locals can't wait for I'm A Celebrity begin, with various schools taking to Twitter to share pictures of letter that pupils have written to Ant and Dec.
