I'm A Celebrity's Uri Geller claims insect he swallowed in trial crawled back out of him

Uri Geller has claimed the bug he ate during his appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! made a reappearance.

The illusionist, 73, said that after he'd eaten the insect as part of a grim bushtucker trial, he started to feel it crawl up his throat and out of his mouth.

Speaking on Tuesday's Loose Women, Uri explained: "I'm a vegetarian but I had to eat an insect, partly it was for charity.

"So I swallowed the insect whole and when I was going back on the bridge back into the camp I felt it crawl up my esophagus inside me.

"It actually crawled back into my mouth through my throat and I spat it out.

"I'll never forget that."

Uri appeared on the very first series of I'm A Celebrity back in 2002, becoming the first one to leave the jungle.

He said he had no idea how big the show was going to be.

The TV star continued: "One night the engineer who changes the batteries walks into where I was sleeping and I'm awake.

"I tell him 'Are we wasting our time here in Australia in the jungle, is anyone watching us?'"

The engineer told him he wasn't supposed to say, before saying: "Uri it's huge."

"That's when I realised this was a big hit," Uri added.
