I'm A Celebrity's Sue Cleaver 'rejects' editing after watching show back

Sue Cleaver claims that the I'm A Celebrity cast members who've watched the show back have all said that the nightly episodes didn't reflect their 'journey' in the jungle.

Coronation Street star Sue was one of the most recognisable names on the line-up for the most recent series of the ITV show, as it made its return to Australia for the first time in three years, having been forced to relocate to Wales in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.

Many viewers were looking forward to seeing Sue in action with bookies also making her an early favourite to win, however, after dividing opinion, Sue ended up making an earlier than expected exit in the final week, before Jill Scott's overwhelming victory as the Lionesses hero became Queen of the Jungle.

Sue was accused of being 'too negative' by some I'm A Celebrity viewers, with others criticising her behaviour towards Matt Hancock, after the former health secretary made a shock entrance as a late arrival. However, many others loved seeing Sue in the jungle, with her rapport with Boy George and Mike Tindall being highly entertaining and her relationship with Loose Women host Charlene White producing a really touching moment.

Like many of her campmates, appearing as a guest on Wednesday's This Morning, Sue was happy to admit that she has watched some I'm A Celebrity episodes since returning home, although she argued that they weren't fully representative of what went on.

After watching some highlights, presenter Phillip Schofield remarked: "It must be weird for you. I don't know how many minutes of actual jungle time are on the telly," as Sue interrupted: "Twenty minutes out of 24 hours."

Phillip replied: "Twenty minutes out of all of that, so you come back and watch it and think 'oh is that the way it looked.' Is that how it felt to you?"

Sue answered: "I dipped in and watched bits and bobs but I think all of us have talked and sort of gone, watching it back, that's not our journey. It's very much our journey and that's what we want to remember really."
