His niece, Aisha Shaban has revealed that Naughty Boy entered I'm A Celebrity to raise awareness for dementia, as The Mirror reports.
For the past five years Naughty Boy has been caring for his 67-year-old mum Zahida who suffers from the disease that causes serious memory loss.
This is the first time Naughty Boy has stepped away from caring for his mum in five years since he moved in with her as her primary carer, and his family has credited this as the reason he might come across as overwhelmed in the castle.
The music producer has threatened to quit the show on multiple occasions and clashed with fellow campmates over the cooking.
Aisha believes that Naughty Boy will start talking about and raising awareness for dementia while in the castle and that he also hopes to build up his music carer again from the show.
In 2017 Zahida suffered a huge stroke that left her in a coma and two years later she was diagnosed with vascular dementia.
When Zahida had the stroke Naughty Boy was working on his second album and has put that on permanent hold to care for his mother.
Now he is hoping that being back in the public eye on I'm A Celebrity will help him with his music and future success.
