I'm A Celebrity's Mo Farah leaves alongside AJ Pritchard in third double eviction in a row

There was a bit of a shock on I'm A Celebrity when the one-time red hot favourite to win, Sir Mo Farah, got the boot in the third successive double eviction.

Before the lineup for this year had even been confirmed, Olympic champion and Great North Run winner Mo was dubbed a 'dead cert' to triumph with some bookies who had him odds on in the betting to be the first ever King or Queen of the Castle.

But as the new series has gone on, Mo slipped behind the pack in the betting and, while AJ Pritchard was the clear favourite to go on Wednesday, experts had Mo next in line for the chop if it was to be a double elimination.

Unfortunately for Mo, it proved to be exactly that with I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec revealing that Strictly star AJ had finished 6th and Mo had finished 5th.

Mo said he'd enjoyed himself completely, saying he'd been "on an amazing journey" while admitting he missed his wife and children.

And many I'm A Celebrity fans immediately took to Twitter, gutted by Mo's departure, especially after his karaoke in The Castle Inn pub, entertaining performance in the Game of Groans trial and his hilarious attempt at being an EastEnders character.

One tweeted: "mo’s such a gem i can’t believe he’s going you’re all so cruel," and another reacted: "Im shocked Mo has gone! He was my favourite, such a lovely funny guy"

Taking things further, a third posted: "SIR MO FARAH IS GOING HOME ON IMACELEB?!?!? IM ASHAMED OF BEING BRITISH!!"
