I'm A Celebrity's Jordan North backed for win by University of Sunderland as he goes for crown

The University of Sunderland are backing their former student Jordan North all the way as he goes for the crown in the I'm A Celebrity final on Friday night.

Jordan has vomited, screamed and laughed his way through the last three weeks and become a big favourite with both viewers and bookies and is the tip to win ahead of Giovanna Fletcher and Vernon Kay.

And, while a proud North West lad, Burnley fan Jordan also has a strong connection to the North East from his studies in Sunderland.

In the final year of his degree at University of Sunderland, he went on to win Bauer Radio’s competition to find the next generation of talent and landed his own Sunday show on The Hits Radio. Jordan has never looked back.

As well as Radio 1, Jordan has worked for Rock FM, The Hits and Capital Manchester - as well as working on University station before he graduated.

And the uni are canvasing votes on his behalf ahead of the I'm A Celebrity final. Taking to Twitter, its communications team posted: "Tonight's the night - get voting to make @sunderlanduni graduate @jordannorth1 the King of the Castle in the final of #ImACelebrity..from Sunderland to, er, Wales - what a rise!"
