I'm A Celebrity's Frankie Bridge tipped to win by bookies according to first night odds

With just hours to go until the launch of I'm A Celebrity 2021, bookies put their necks on the line and predicted we'll have another Queen of the Castle this year.

After the show made its much publicised switch from the Australian jungle to Gwrych Castle in Wales last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, blogger and author Giovanna Fletcher took the crown, beating Jordan North and Vernon Kay in a closely contested final.

Giovanna became I'm A Celebrity' s first ever Queen of the Castle but bookmakers are feeling confident that she won't be the last.

With just hours to go, the odds on who will win the new series changed again and the refresh was good news for Frankie Bridge.

After being made an early frontrunner to triumph this year, was pegged back in the odds by Emmerdale actor Danny Miller and Coronation Street legend Simon Gregson, despite his name being missed from the confirmed line-up.

But, as the clock ticked down to this year's launch episode live from Wales, it was Saturdays singer turned Loose Women panellist Frankie who sat top of the pile with bookies Betfair.

Wife of Wayne Bridge, himself a former I'm A Celebrity contestant, Frankie was on odds of 4/1.

Danny Miller, a joint favourite on Friday, was in second on odds of 9/2, with ex Newcastle player David Ginola climbing up the betting to be joint third with Simon, better known to millions of soap fans as Wetherfield's own Steve McDonald.

Betfair spokesman Sam Rosbottom said: “With an edition of I'm a Celebrity beginning for a 21st time tonight, Frankie Bridge is the outright 4/1 favourite to be queen of the castle, five years after her husband Wayne starred on the show.

"She has strong competition though in the form of Danny Miller, who is just behind her on 9/2 and footy legend David Ginola who has come from nowhere to be joint third favourite on 11/2 with Simon Gregson.

“GMB host Richard Madeley is perhaps unsurprisingly the strong 6/4 favourite to do the most bushtucker trials, while Arlene Phillips is 3/1 to be eliminated first in what is sure to be another action packed series."
