I'm A Celebrity's final figures reveals how close Jordan North was to being crowned winner ahead of Giovanna Fletcher

I'm A Celebrity 2020 may feel like a lifetime ago already.

For less than three weeks, millions of us tuned in every night to watch 12 celebrities face some of their biggest fears in trials at Gwrych Castle.

And let's not forget Ant and Dec.

But when it came down to it, it was between Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Giovanna Fletcher to be crowned King or Queen of the castle.

Of course we know that it was podcaster and author Giovanna who, after 12 million votes were cast, was announced as the I'm A Celeb winner for 2020.

But it could have been very different as the voting figures have revealed.

Giovanna, 35, received 50.27% of the final vote, while Radio 1 DJ Jordan, 30, got 49.73%.

Though it seemed Giovanna was always in the running as at the close of the first vote, which decided third place as Vernon, she had the bigger lead with 39.45% to Jordan's 34.06%.

The ITV reality series ended up being the biggest television show of 2020 with an average of 11.2 million viewers watching across the series.

Based on location in Wales instead of Australia for the very first time, the show climaxed with a peak of 12.1m viewers watching the final.

I'm a Celebrity started the series with 14.3 million viewers - making ITV its biggest audience since the Croatia v England World Cup Semi-Final in 2018.
