While speaking to fellow campmates Frankie Bridge asked Danny about his character Aaron Dingle coming out on the ITV soap opera.

I'm A Celebrity's Danny Miller (ITV)

Frankie asked him: “Danny was your character always gay or did he come out?”

Danny replied: “He was in there straight but he was a virgin and nervous around gay people and then this new producer took over which kind of made my career.

“They asked me to come up for a meeting late at the end of the day around 7 o’clock which was really worrying.”

Eastenders soap actor Adam Woodyatt jumped in and agreed: “Yeah as always with a dreaded meeting especially if it’s a Friday.”

Danny continued: “I can’t remember what day it was but it was worrying thinking they were going to get rid of me.

“But he went, we've come up with this idea and storyline we want to do with you.

“We think it’s the reason why he is so angry and nervous around girls and a virgin, it’s because he’s gay.

“I didn’t have to think about it and said yeah. I’d love to be able to portray something that hasn’t been done before in soaps.

"There’s obviously gay characters in soap, but in terms of against all stereotypes of a gay man, and it made me think that would be so good.

"I think part of it helped change some perceptions of it really. I’ve had loads of fan letters and stuff that have come through at work that said, 'You helped me come out', 'You helped me deal with my sexuality' and stuff and you think, ‘Wow’.”
