I'm A Celebrity's Cliff Parisi falls asleep during live interview on ITV Lorraine

If Cliff Parisi will be remembered for one thing during his time on I’m A Celebrity , it’ll be his talent for falling asleep at any given time.

(That, of course, and his very visible derriere hanging out of his trousers.)

So it only seemed fitting that the EastEnders actor caught a few Zzzs during an interview on ITV’s Lorraine.

Cliff’s best moments from the reality show were played out before host Lorraine Kelly went to speak to him via videolink in Australia.

But the first thing she saw was Cliff sat in a chair asleep.

“Well, Cliff… Oh,” said Lorraine, laughing at the sight. “Cliff joins me now, ssshhh everyone, he’s sleeping.”

Before she yelled: “Cliff wake up!”

Cliff awoke from his slumber suddenly and looked startled before apologising to viewers.

“I’m sorry. Good morning Lorraine,” he said, waving his hand.”Sorry, I was just having a little nap.”

When the Scottish presenter commented that he had napping down to a “fine art”, Cliff was readily in agreement.

“I even slept through meal times,” he replied.

Cliff was of course pretending and making a little joke at his own expense, and went on to reveal how much weight he’d lost during his time on the show.

"I lost a stone-and-a-half in weight and I am never going to eat another bean in my life, it was torture,” he said.

"I had such a good time but I have been paid to go on a diet and sleep in the jungle. I am like Dr Dolittle now."

As the interview came to an end, the camera went back to Cliff, who pretended to fall back to sleep.

Don’t worry Cliff, you’ve got a luxury hotel to enjoy before the series ends.

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight from 9pm on ITV.
