I'm A Celebrity's Charlene White shares 'regret' over Matt Hancock

Charlene White has opened up on her regret since leaving I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

The ITV newsreader was the first campmate to be eliminated on the latest season of TV's toughest entertainment challenge. The broadcaster appeared on Loose Women to discuss her stint on the ITV show.

I'm A Celebrity has been rocked with controversy this year after Matt Hancock joined the line-up. A controversial moment from this season was when Charlene refused to share the RV with the former Health Secretary.

Charlene told her fellow panellists why she felt uncomfortable sharing the "intimate space" of the RV with an MP. She said: "I felt being in that intimate environment with a very high profile Conservative MP would reflect badly on me as a journalist in the future.

"I couldn't quite understand how it would be taken if I was to be interviewing politicians from Labour, the Lib Dems or the Green party when they know that I have shared an intimate space with someone who has been in an opposition party. It just didn't sit well with me."

Charlene admitted she should have explained her though process more clearly to the other campmates. She said: "I guess a mistake I made was not being as explicit about that with the other campmates who were a a bit confused by it. I massively regret not doing that."
