I'm A Celebrity's Carol Vorderman reveals stars were 'blindfolded' during filming

Carol Vorderman has revealed that the stars of the first ever South African edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! were "blindfolded" during car journeys to trials. The 62-year-old former Countdown star is currently appearing in the pre-recorded spin-off series, which was filmed in September 2022, alongside previous memorable I'm A Celeb campmates, including Helen Flanagan and Gillian McKeith.

In tonight's show, Janice Dickinson and Jordan Banjo were taken away from camp to devour, or attempt to swallow small morsels of, the "Bush Banquet", which featured innovative dishes such as "French Onion Poop" and "Key Lung Pie". "Double J", as the duo dubbed themselves, had their stomachs turned by various animal genitalia and innards, with Janice puking after the trial concluded and they had won five meals for camp.

As the second episode of the "All Stars" series drew to a close, Clifton resident Carol hopped on Instagram Live from her warm and cosy home - a far cry from the uncomfortable hammocks in the South African wilderness - to discuss tonight's episode. When one fan watching asked her what the main differences were between the South African camp and the one in Australia, Carol shared a nerve-racking piece of information about the current series.

Carol replied: "It's very different, this camp, because it's bigger and, in Australia, you have a rush of air through this natural ravine. But in this one, it's like a circle... it's almost like a bowl with a lid on.

"It's not a proper lid, you can see a bit of sky but it's hot and smoky and Australia isn't like that. But the biggest one - and I really hope you're interested in this - is when you go for the trials."

Carol then reflected on the Australian series, which often captures the celebrity campmates walking over the famous bridges to get to the trials. "On this one, it's different," Carol said.

"You get to the gate to go out of camp and it's about 400 yards you have to walk and often, they blindfold you. You walk this 400 yards to a blacked out car that you have to sit in the back of with these, like, curtains all blacked out.

"And then the car drives off and sometimes it drives on for about half an hour. So you've got this blindfold on, you're in this blacked out car and you're being driven for half an hour.

"Now, whether they go round and round and round in circles, I don't know, but to get from the camp to where the trial is takes a long time, and so you get kind of nervous anyway."
