I'm A Celebrity's Ant and Dec 'can't wait' for show's return to Wales

By Megan Nisbet

Autumn marks the official countdown to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and preparations for this year's series are already underway.

2021 will see the show return to Wales for the second time due to the "continued uncertainty" around Covid-19 and international travel.

And while an official start date hasn't yet been confirmed, Gwrych Castle has now closed until 2022 to make way for ITV. You can read more on this here.

Ant and Dec have also revealed they "can't wait" for the series to return while picking up a very special award.

The presenting duo made a speech at the TV Choice Awards this week after I'm A Celeb won won 'Best Reality Show.'

The award recognised last year's series of I'm a Celebrity, won by author and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher, which was filmed on the Gwrych Castle estate in Abergele, reports North Wales Live.

Accepting the award virtually, Dec said: "Wow, thank you so much for this amazing award. [Thanks] to all the readers of TV Choice and everybody who voted for I'm a Celebrity, especially as it was the Welsh series as well."

Concluding the speech, Ant commented: "Thank you to all the celebrities who took part last year in Wales. Thanks to ITV [and] everybody who worked on the show.

He then added: "We love doing I'm a Celebrity and we can't wait to do the next series. Bring it on!"
