I'm a Celebrity new campmate Adam Woodyatt reveals his Welsh links as he enters the castle

The two new campmates joining I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here have been revealed and both have been talking about their links to Wales.

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt and Coronation Street's Simon Gregson were revealed to be entering Gwrych Castle at the end of Wednesday.

The pair are the latest campmates preparing for impending torture at Gwrych Castle, it was revealed at the end of tonight's show.

Both soap stars have said they haven't come prepared with any survival skills but are looking forward to what's in store.

EastEnders star, Adam revealed his Welsh links and said he is pleased the series is being filmed here.

"I like Wales and I'm not just saying that because I am here, it is because I am half Welsh," he said in an interview with North Wales Live and other media outlets.

"Many years ago, I played charity football in Rhyl and Llandudno and I nearly went to school in Harlech back in 1983, but we didn't settle there we settled in mid Wales instead. Wales is quite familiar to me."

Adam said he doesn't think his on screen character, Ian Beale would fare well in the castle.

"Hopefully I won't squeal like Ian Beale. I don't think he would cope at all."

Adam said although he's met several of the campmates before, he's particularly looking forward to meeting David Ginola.

"My cousin Matt, he wants me to spoon David Ginola.

"I'll have to ask him first. I think it's got to be a consensual thing. Although he might be offended as I am a Liverpool fan and he is Spurs."

The 53-year-old left Albert Square last year, with his character Ian Beale walking away from Walford in the new year after being poisoned by his pseudo lover Sharon Mitchell in a twisted revenge plot.

He confirmed that he won't be returning to EastEnders after taking part in I'm A Celebrity.

Asked whether he was looking forward to fans seeing what he was really like, he said: "Ian is a character on a TV programme.

"That was just a job. [I'm A Celeb] is a different thing."

Meanwhile, Corrie's Simon revealed he owned a caravan on Anglesey, which he has had for many years.

He told journalists: "I love North Wales. We are pretty much here half the year anyway because we have got a caravan here.

"We are big fans of North Wales, made a lot of friends here."

I'm A Celebrity continues on Thursday night at 9pm on ITV.
