I'm A Celebrity makes last minute change over fears stars won't handle 'freezing' Wales

I'm A Celebrity execs have made a last minute change to the new series over fears it will be 'more hellish' in its new home of Wales and contestants will be unable to cope.

For the first rime in its 18 year history, the hit ITV show has been forced to make the switch from its usual home of Australia to Abergele in North Wales.

A rumoured I'm A Celebrity lineup said to include Vernon Kay, Mo Farah and Beverley Callard, will battle it out to be the first ever King or Queen of the Castle but bosses fear the the chilly conditions at Gwyrch Castle might prove to much for the stars.

The Sun reports that, as a result, this year's show will be cut from 22 to 20 days.

An insider told the paper: "There have been some concerns at ITV that it’s going to be a mega shock to the system when they leave the lap of luxury and are suddenly living in a damp, squalid castle.

“There are fears some will sack it off. They were even worried some might not even enter the castle at all.

"This will be harder than the Australian jungle. It will be damp and freezing.”

The new series of I'm A Celebrity is due to start on Sunday, November 15 and other names linked to the show include Shane Ritchie, Victoria Derbyshire and AJ Pritchard.

They will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of former EastEenders actress Jacqueline Jossa who triumped Down Under last year.
