I'm A Celebrity line-up rumours as EastEnders legend tipped to join

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 may still be a few months away but the rumour mill has already started churning when it comes to this year's line-up. As fans of the show will know, the I'm A Celebrity contestants are not confirmed by ITV until closer to the time, but this hasn't stopped fans from speculating and bookies placing their bets.

According to BetVictor, Danny Dyer is being hotly tipped to appear on the new series of I'm A Celebrity, at 10/11, ahead of making his exit from EastEnders. The Apprentice 2019's Thomas Skinner is another favourite to head to the jungle, with odds of 1/1.

Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara and retired football referee Mike Dean are also hotly tipped. Others listed include football legend Michael Owen, whose daughter Gemma Owen is currently in Love Island, and former contestants of the ITV2 dating show Maura Higgins and Amber Gill.

It comes as presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly confirmed the plan is to return to Australia in 2022 after two years of filming in Abergele in Wales. The long-running ITV show, which has been on screens since 2002, has always taken place in the jungle but was located at the stunning Gwrych Castle during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on Heart Radio recently, Ant said: "The plan is, we're going back to Australia, we don’t want to go elsewhere. It's got to go back to it. Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started."

He then added: "Everyone wants to see a bit of sunshine at that time of year on the telly." You can read more on this here.

The stars who end up going into the jungle this year will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, who won the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity against the gorgeous backdrop of Gwrych Castle. The 200-year-old Grade I listed country house is based in the seaside town of Abergele in the county of Conwy. The castle recently opened its gate lodge to guests for the night, you can read more about this here.

BetVictor's Sam Boswell said: "I’m a Celeb is finally back in Australia this year, after temporarily relocating to Wales. The show is always popular with the British public and always brings a variety of stars together. Favourite to go on the show is Danny Dyer, at 10/11, after he quit EastEnders earlier this year.

"Thomas Skinnner and Mike Dean are also favourites to appear on the show this year, with both sitting at 1/1. Thomas shot to fame after appearing on The Apprentice in 2019 and became well-known and loved for his bubbly persona. Alongside Thomas is Mike Dean, retired football referee, well-known for dishing out the red cards throughout his career.”

"While it is likely that Boris Johnson will continue his political career as an MP, in previous series, former contestants on I'm a Celeb have been closely linked to politicians. It is possible that previous confidents of Johnson could appear in the jungle including Jennifer Arcuri at 1/16, with Dominic Cummings following at 33/1."
