I'm A Celebrity in race row as Scarlette and Charlene first to be voted off

I'm A Celebrity has been locked in a race row as Scarlette Douglas and Charlene White became the first two stars to leave.

Angry fans of the ITV show took to Twitter after the Place In The Sun star was confirmed to be leaving the programme tonight to fume how two Black women had been the first to leave the show. Babatunde Aleshe also found himself in the bottom two tonight - and frustrated viewers have taken to social media to slam the public's choice.

As Scarlette was announced to be leaving the show, she cried and hugged all her campmates. Later, she told Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly that she was devastated to be going so early and leaving her campmates behind.

One angry viewer penned: "Do not love that the two Black women were the first to be voted out of #ImACeleb," while another added: "Another black woman out... I wonder if people are still gonna say race isn't playing a part here #imaceleb."

"Why is it always the black celebs out first? Saying this people will say I’m playing the race card but this is clearly an issue wtf #ImaCeleb," a third shared, with a fourth writing: "Stop this racist voting now. This is sickening and ITV you must not allow it to continue." A fifth wrote: "The #ImACeleb popularity contest kicks out the 2 black women first."

Another viewer vented their frustration on Twitter, as they wrote: "So your telling me the only two black females have already gone and Babatunde the last black person was also bottom two mmm #ImACeleb."

One fan said they were "absolutely mortified and embarrassed" by the result.

"Absolutely mortified and embarrassed at the results of #ImACeleb Scarlette is such a likeable woman and if she had been white she would have been the winner. She has more personality and sparkle than any of them. Anyone voting for Matt Hancock should be ashamed. #Scarlette," they wrote, with another sharing on social media as they fumed over Scarlette's exit: "Scarlette was so positive amongst all the whiners but mediocre men are always given the benefit of the doubt! Grrrr!"

Another viewer shared: "If you still need proof that racism is very much alive and kicking in this country, two black women have now been consecutively voted out and the only black man in the jungle was in close danger of leaving. Still think we’re pulling the race card, boomers? #ImACeleb."

Another fan of the show expressed their anger., writing "'two out, both black women when there's horrible problematic white men still in there. and let's not forget a black person has never won this show. race is relevant when there is an obvious pattern #imaceleb."

Scarlette was booted off the show tonight, just two days after Charlene became the first campmate to be evicted.

Speaking about being in the camp with Matt Hancock, the Loose Women star said: "I think everyone had their feelings about Matt when he first walked in. But we also have to live alongside him. So we all have to adapt to that. And he's made some real connections in there, which has been wonderful and so many people didn't think that would happen. So it was difficult."
