I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Giovanna Fletcher has been using secret hand signals to communicate with her children, her husband has revealed.
The author and TV presenter was seen touching her nose and wiggling her fingers during the first episode of the series, when contestants were told who would be competing in the first trials.
Sure enough, Fletcher was one of the chosen ones, and the CBeebies presenter and mother of three endured her first trial, which involved terrifying heights.
Fletcher’s husband, Tom Fletcher, a lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist from the band McFly, has revealed exactly what her hand gestures signified.
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the ITV chat show This Morning, the musician was asked whether one of Fletcher’s hand movements was “for the boys”.
“Yeah that was a little signal,” he responded, performing the gesture himself. “When she does that, that's a signal to the kids.”
Fletcher is not the only contestant to work out a subtle means of communicating with her family while on-screen.
Former EastEnders star Shane Richie has also adopted a hidden gesture to let his kids know he is thinking of them while he’s away competing at Gwrych castle.
