I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestants removed from camp after Storm Arwen caused chaos

Campmates have been removed from the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! castle after the aftermath of Storm Arwen caused chaos with the show.

Producers earlier revealed this weekend's programmes would be cancelled and replaced with compilation episodes voiced by hosts Ant and Dec.

Technical issues at the production base caused by Storm Arwen was blamed for the move.

The storm has battered the United Kingdom bringing heavy wind and snow across large parts of the country - with more extreme weather forecast in some parts tomorrow.

Now the PA Agency reports the campmates have been moved out of Gwrych Castle, near Abergele in Wales, while work can be carried out on the site.

It is understood the celebrities will individually return to quarantine to ensure they remain Covid secure, and they will be back at the castle once the whole production is safely re-established.

A statement from I’m A Celebrity said: “Whilst we get the production base back up and running after suffering technical issues due to the storm, we have removed the celebrities from the castle.”

The quarantine conditions for the celebrities will be the same as they had before entering the castle.

But bosses said the production hub had sustained "significant damage".

The show said in a statement: “Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series.”
