I'm A Celebrity fans accuse bosses of editing show favourites - and ignoring Nadine Coyle

Fans of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have accused the show's bosses of "selective editing" in order to position some celebrities as winners - while others are being "ignored".

Viewers have noticed how certain campmates are getting more airtime than others, with Ian Wright's frequent clashing with Andrew Maxwell grabbing precious minutes of prime-time telly.

Caitlyn Jenner, rumoured to be the most expensive signing in the show's history with a £500,000 paycheck, has been shown getting along with everyone in the camp, bonding especially with Kate Garraway and Jacqueline Jossa, who she said reminded her of her daughter Kylie Jenner .

It would make sense for ITV to keep her in the jungle for as long as possible, to get their money's worth.

Former England footballer Ian, meanwhile, was supposed to be the bookies' favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle.

And some fans thought producers were protecting him against retribution by not letting slip that he had lost the camp a star as punishment for sneaking food into the sleeping area.

With Andrew seemingly clashing with the most opinionated campmates - Ian and James Haskell - some fans are wondering whether his and Ian's scenes have been edited to make them out as the villains of the show.

One tweeted: "I understand that people can have massive clashes of personalities, but Ian is being so horrible to Andrew, don’t really understand his problem. All Andrew has to do is breath the wrong way and he’s getting it in neck from Ian or so it seems from editing. V Disappointing."

Another wrote: "All people going on about #ianwright bullying #andrew . Let's get one thing straight #ImACeleb are editing the show and if he is they should do something about it. #andrew is a cry baby as well."

But some viewers are divided over whether Ian is showing his true colours or if he's just being edited to look snappy and argumentative.

One raged: "Wow what bullies #ImACeleb producers are?? Brilliant poking, engineering and editing! Now being a gent is a bad thing for James and wanting team work and equality for everyone in camp is also wrong for Ian! This is the worst year yet! This is no longer a natural reality show!!"

And another said: "So I get that editing can make or break someone but Ian Wrights really disappointing me. He does have a 'not so nice side'. I wish I could unwatch him and go backing to thinking of him as a nice person a Arsenal legend."

Other fans were furious that Nadine Coyle hasn't had much airtime yet, with some jokingly questioning whether she's even in the camp still.

"Also getting pissed that ITV are continuing their trend of trying to make a winner with their selective editing & continuing to completely ignore some camp mates. I mean, is Nadine actually there..?!" tweeted one.

"You are showing too much of James. Can you let us see a bit more of Nadine please. James is a good bloke, but the editing and his roles is going to backfire. He is now coming across as controlling," wrote another.

And a third said: "We only get to see an edited hour of highlights from the last 24 hours on the show. Do those editing have a favourite to win? We don't seem to be seeing much from Nadine for eg so I feel she will be out earlier than some of those who are always given more screen time."

It comes after ITV announced a major shakeup to its aftercare process, in the wake of the death of a Jeremy Kyle Show guest and the suicides of Love Island stars Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis.

With parliament launching a probe into reality TV, ITV said it was now providing more thorough pre-filming screening and psychological support during filming.

This could well be why most of the Bushtucker trials in the current I'm A Celebrity series have seen the campmates pair up to complete their tasks - with the exception of Andrew's Bushtucker earlier this week.

Mirror Online has contacted ITV for comment.
