I'm A Celebrity castle officially responds to rumours camp has central heating

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is taking place in Gwrych Castle in Wales for the 2020 series.

So far viewers have been blown away by the impressive camp and breathtaking views and scenery that surround it.

The Welsh weather has also been a huge topic of conversation, but not among the campmates.

In fact, this year's contestants have complained so little about the freezing temperatures that viewers at home have become a bit suspect.

And when celebrities began walking around in t-shirts, with Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard even sleeping semi-nude, fans became convinced the castle was actually heated.

"There's no way they don't have central heating... night time in Wales and AJ is half naked," wrote one viewer.

While another added: "Has the castle got central heating, no-one complained day or night about how cold it is. Unless there's a heatwave we don't know about."

Following the rumours, and what can only be described as uproar on social media, the castle has officially responded.

A spokesperson for the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust, which runs the estate, told North Wales Live: "There's no central heating at the castle. It has no mains electricity or running water."

Instead, celebrities have a fire pit in the middle of camp to keep warm, as well as warmer kit than usual this year.

When discussing his "hot flush" in the middle of the night recently, AJ pointed the finger to "good food" and a "sugar rush" that raised his temperatures after the camp won a lamb banquet.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
