I'm A Celebrity camp 'on lockdown' over fears of killer on the loose after body found nearby

The I'm A Celebrity camp is reportedly on lockdown over fears of a killer on the loose near the camp.

The body of a man, believed to be in his 50s, was found with 'physical wounds' at Tweed Heads near the Queensland and New South Wales border on Friday morning.

The man's body was found in a sleeping bag by a couple walking their dog in an area over an hour away from the camp located in Dungay Creek, New South Wales and homicide detectives are investigating.

New South Wales Police said they were treating the death of the man as suspicious.

Detective Chief Inspector Brendon Cullen told ABC News that they wanted to establish how the man came to be in the state he was found in.

Jack Evans Boat Harbour Park and surrounding bushland is understood to be an area well known for its homeless population.

Sources have told The Sun that I'm A Celeb bosses are aware of the ongoing search and have ensured their security measures are 'impenetrable.'

Celebs taking part in the ITV reality show, including Coronation Street star Andrew Whyment who plays Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap, are being watched 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Sources said security measures on the show are 'incredibly tight' with zero chance of anyone sneaking into camp.

Dungay Creek has been used for I'm A Celebrity filming since the second series in 2003 and versions of the hit show for other countries are also filmed in the area.

The Manchester Evening News has approached ITV for comment.
