I'm a Celebrity bosses forced to 'edit out' Chris Moyles' dig at host Ant McPartlin

Bosses at ITV's I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! are said to be getting a 'headache' when removing comments made by contestant Chris Moyles.

The veteran radio DJ has been rumoured to have made several comments alluding to presenter Ant McPartlin's controversial past, reports the Mirror. These comments have reportedly included his battle with alcoholism and causing a car accident.

But bosses are reportedly having to scratch their heads at the sheer amount of footage they have to sit through while producing the final edit for the popular ITV programme. Sources explained that while Chris is joking with the male campmates in the jungle, the comments are "causing headaches".

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Everyone knows Chris' humour can be a bit close to the mark and it's been no different in camp.

"But there have been some p***take remarks to Ant that have become a problem, like when Ant and Dec pulled up in the speedboat in the first episode, Chris joked he was surprised they let Ant in anything so fast because he’s known to crash stuff."

They went on to say that there had been a "big bottle" on the set of the show, with Chris commenting that it was similar in size to the bottles of vodka that Ant may have at home.

The source added: "Chris is friends with the lads and it's coming from a place of banter but that obviously doesn't help in the edit."

Ant was previously banned from driving for 20 months back in 2018 and was fined £86,000 after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

At the time, Ant had been driving home from a dog walk with his mum Christine when he crashed into a family sitting in a Mini after veering into the wrong lane. He also hit a BMW, and was double over the legal alcohol limit in England.

Since the accident, he has vowed to sobriety, and got a tattoo of the Alcoholics Anonymous logo on his left wrist. Speaking at the time of the incident, Ant said: "I let a lot of people down, and for that, I am truly sorry.

"I'd like to apologise to everybody involved in the crash and I am just thankful that nobody was seriously hurt in this."

ITV has been approached for comment on the matter.
